To some, Yasser Arafat symbolizes the struggle of the Palestinians. To others he represents a deterrent to peace in the Arab-Israeli conflict. As the longtime chairman of the Palestinian Liberation Organization, Arafat led the fight for Palestinian statehood and acquired arms and money for the cause. This book documents Arafat's life and the tumultuous times he lives in, his attempts at establishing peace with Israel in the early 1990s, and his continued influence throughout the Arab world.
