具体描述
Bob Hartman is well known as a storyteller who captures children's imagination and keep them spellbound. In this collection he blends familar stories with little-known tales. There are retellings from sources as diverse as La Fontaine, Aesop, Uncle Remus, and folk tales and legends from around the world. Yet this is more than just a collection of animal stories - most of the appealing retellings have been selected because of their implicit moral teaching or positive values. This captivating collection reflects the storyteller's humour and joy of life, both of which are echoed in Susie Poole's bold watercolour illustrations. 'An excellent bedtime reader for the younger child, with a different aspect of human nature examined in each story - plus superb illustrations from Susie Poole.' - Christian Marketplace
