Ambivalent, overall highly polished but can seem sterile at times. Readers get to enjoy a good mixture of themes - most dwell on finding patterns in nature, language and maths, some cover topical issues, while others were, well, experimental but a tad awkward.

The existence of free will meant that we couldn’t know the future. And we knew free will existed because we had direct experience of it. Volition was an intricate part of consciousness.
