一年前讀完的，當時不以為意，覺得過分戲劇化，直到現在看瞭Hilary Mantel的短篇小說很舒服纔明白是之前看瞭這本書有瞭鋪墊，纔明白自己以前根本不知道什麼叫短篇小說，纔開始佩服優秀的Munro。

有一點九故事，有一點奧康納，滿眼是塵土和稻草的顔色，就連偶爾的moment of grace和moment of truth，都是布滿灰土的地闆上一片亮色的陽光光斑，而不是劈開黑夜的閃電。

比之後的小說更加像短篇小說，有靈性，有戛然而止卻迴味無窮的技巧，也有真實復雜的心理描寫。後麵兩篇功力十足，讀罷思索良久。the peace of utrecht & dance of happy shades真真是把世間百態寫瞭個清楚，每個人都放佛被睏住瞭，睏在一段時間裏，一種行為方式裏，一種思維模式裏。這些是很難掙脫的，有的人從中獲得瞭幸福，有的人沒有
