當年上中東文化史的指定讀物之一

a pre and post Said classic. Chap. 5 seems to me the most scintillating part.

很難讀，建議讀完薩義德德裏達福柯塗爾乾以後再來嘗試，我是被迫在沒做充分準備的情況下讀的，所以真的不敢說自己完全理解瞭作者的意思。我認為作者大概要錶達的是，19世紀形成瞭一種“區隔”和“代錶”的秩序，這種秩序將東西方分離並且將東方作為西方反麵。埃及引入瞭歐洲的“秩序”，新的歸訓權力運用新的技術，實現瞭對社會，對生産，以及最終是對“人”的控製，將人異化為肉體和精神兩方麵。“殖民”就在“歸訓”和“代錶”的作用下完成瞭。真的很難讀，但是為這本書付齣的一切努力都是值得的。最後推薦個讀書筆記：https://www.goodreads.com/review/show/1191301928

全書最齣彩最有趣的幾個章節還是在用福柯。不過我倒挺喜歡他把塗爾乾給牽過來的做法。（忘瞭有人是怎麼評價福柯和塗爾乾的關係瞭，福柯把塗爾乾給倒過來瞭還是咋地瞭。。。=,=）
