听说是本中学生就能读懂的书，于是就开始津津有味地读了起来。个人觉得，麦克法兰老前辈对整个英格兰的诠释，直达政治、宗教及哲学等各个领域，虽然涉及领域广，但其诙谐幽默的口吻娓娓道来，读起来很畅快，值得一读。
