In a series of eight colourful books, the authors set out to encourage the international traveller away from the annual sojourn on the poolside lounger towards never to be forgotten adventure holidays, in places where nature can still be enjoyed at first hand. In addition to offering beautiful professional photographic images that capture the spirit of the land, they provide useful travel hints and guidance for the camera enthusiasts keen to produce their own safari albums. The first four titles published in English, South Africa, Namibia, Botswana and India are to be published in September 2006, with Kenya, Galapagos, Tanzania and Madagascar following in the first half of 2007. South Africa with its many glorious facets, is a classic destination for nature lovers, wildlife enthusiasts and photographers. Quite apart from the magnificent scenery the country is teeming with animals, from the predatory big cats to the mighty elephant to the dainty springbok. This book, with its captivating photographs, invites travel to the country's most beautiful wilderness regions and is accompanied by a compendium of practical information. As with all titles in the "Safari Companions" series, the authors set out to share their field experiences, giving advise to add to the enjoyment of exploring the nature and wildlife of the country. Where appropriate, each picture is linked to a caption explaining the circumstances of the shoot and offering practical photographic advice.
