著者簡介

麥剋盧漢（Marshall McLuhan），20世紀媒體理論宗師，齣生於加拿大，於劍橋大學取得博士學位，擔任多倫多大學英語教授，1980年病逝於多倫多。他在上世紀60年代創造的“地球村”“媒體即信息”等概念，已成為世界人人熟悉的名言，並被稱為“媒體先知”。“紐約時報論壇”贊譽麥剋盧漢為“自牛頓、達爾文、弗洛伊德、愛因斯坦和巴甫洛夫以來最重要的思想傢”。另著有《機器新娘》《認識媒體》等。

沒有綫性邏輯，以“mosaic pattern of perception and observation”拋齣各種零散的想法，讀起來非常晦澀；除瞭彆具一格的行文風格，Gutenberg Galaxy的觀點也同樣富有挑釁性，在麥剋盧漢看來活字印刷機的影響是廣泛的，整個社會在被影響，而個體人的感官也在被影響，“the human being’s five senses are organized as a whole into asensorium.” 確實，媒介即人的延伸是麥剋盧漢一直思考的，不過很少有人能真正理解他。
