At first glance, the world that David Drebin presents is mostly the world of the beautiful, the young, the rich, the hip. He constructs this world with exactness, so these images are lush and gorgeous. But beneath the beautiful veneer, these images pulsate with complex emotions. He is a master at creating the perfect balance of reality and artifice. He infuses his images with clues, but gives us no answers. So we wonder. Who are these people? The women are strong and revel in their autonomy even in the throes of heartbreak. The men seem less powerful, haunted almost. What might have happened before and after the moment we see? We are compelled to ponder these intricate images, and the longer our eyes linger the more stories emerge. Sad stories, happy stories, melancholy stories.

作者简介

David Drebin, originally from Toronto, Canada, graduated from Parson School of Design in New York City in 1996 and has been based in New York City ever since.

After success in the commercial world doing ad campaigns internationally for companies from American Express, Davidoff, New York Times to name a few as well as magazines from Vanity Fair, Travel and Leisure, GQ, Elle, Rolling Stone and many others David has gone on to have exhibitions in Los Angeles and Berlin.

David's first monograph "Love and Other Stories" will be published by DAAB and will be released in May 2007.
