我对比过这本书（MIT指定教材）与高等教育出版社的第二版《力学》中国的课本内容比美国的深得多（我选的是MIT提供三种难度力学最难的那门），而且相当多额外的补充内容，例如有一节是讨论双摆的。MIT的课程是完全按照课本教的，没有超出课本的水平，最多就是复习课（通常讲解作业和答疑）时教授偶然说一些比较深入的。
