全程都在跟著情節想象它的大小和行動。看完發現自己竟然毫無同情心，內心毫無波動。

跨越他整個寫作生涯的短篇小說集，從最初的Meditations到最終的Hunger Artist。沒想到最愛的故事居然是In the Penal Colony，也非常喜歡The Judgement。他明明會幽默俏皮（The Aeroplanes At Brescia），但既然能挖掘齣比常人多十倍的細節（Little Woman），於是人和事物都像是發生在慢鏡頭下，真令人焦躁不安。

說來慚愧，一個對文學有畢生追求的人，到現在纔讀卡夫卡的《變形計》——毫無疑問是整個二十世紀最著名也最重要的一篇短篇小說：格裏高有天醒來發現自己變成瞭一隻甲蟲。該如何解讀這個故事？馬剋思主義：資本壓榨下人的異化？女權主義：傢長製下專橫的父親？心理分析：潛意識裏的怪物？一個喜劇？一場鬧劇？一個悲劇？都有一點吧。整個故事最打動我的，是發現自己變成甲蟲的格裏高腦子裏第一個第一個念頭竟然是如何趕上火車去上班，因為他微薄的工資是全傢人惟一的經濟來源。即使整個傢庭都厭棄他，他也還在幻想如何資助自己的妹妹上音樂學院；就算傢人們最終把他逼死，格裏高仍然是懷著對傢人的愛和信念咽氣的。

Havent bought the book yet, will do tomorrow. But after reading the whole piece of Metamorphosis, I couldnt erase this name for long, a haunted writer, indeed.

Summary Schopenhauer and Dostoevsky are the two most likely spiritual mentors of this story. In his Parerga und Paralipomena, Schopenhauer suggested that it might be helpful to look at the world as a penal colony, and Dostoevsky, whom Kafka re-read in 1914...
