著者簡介

詹姆斯·多爾蒂(James Daugherty)(1889-1974)，現代派畫傢、壁畫傢、作傢、童書插畫傢。1889年齣生於美國北卡羅來納州的阿什維爾(Asheville)，在印第安納州和俄亥俄州長大。9歲時搬到華盛頓。曾就讀於可可然藝術學校和賓州美術學院。後又去倫敦學習，師從藝術大師弗蘭剋·勃朗瓊。多爾蒂曾為很多作傢的作品繪製插圖。他創作的《丹尼爾·布恩》》(Daniel Boone)榮獲1940年紐伯瑞兒童文學奬(Newbery Medal)，《安迪與獅子》榮獲1939年凱迪剋大奬，他和本傑明·埃爾金閤作的《吉萊斯皮和守衛》(Gillespie and the Guards)榮獲1957年凱迪剋大奬。其他作品還有《亞伯拉罕·林肯》(Abraham Lincoln)(1943年)、《無所畏懼》(Of Courage Undaunted)(1951年)、《威廉·布萊剋》(William Blake)(1960年)、《號手：拉爾夫·沃爾多·愛默生》(The Sound of Trumpets: Ralph Waldo Emerson)(1971年)等。詹姆斯·多爾蒂去世於1974年。
