第四版牛津高阶的英文释义还是牛津的简明风格，汉语翻译也很有水平，而且还有动词的详细分类。第六版的英文解释开始限词，动词也没详细分类了，失去了牛津的特色，向朗文靠拢了，不再像是Advanced learner's。
