Sometimes remodeling an existing building is more complicated than building a new one. Not only for the consideration needed to preserve the buildling's historical value but because of the extra effort required to maintain such buildings. However, participating in this type of project is an amazing experience for an architect as it presents unique challenges, and forces him or her to work with the existing designs while adding their own touches.
