萨森的“全球城市”理念可谓开一代之先。尽管全书是围绕纽约、伦敦和东京的案例分析，材料和观点如今看来也不再具有新意，但若对照上海近30年的发展历程，此书的价值便可见一斑。

超级无聊啊 本学期做无聊的reading没有之一 老黑的故事都比这个好看

书单必读，然鹅 写的确实太详细了。。space economy, expanded central management and control, national urban system, urban hierarchy, change in the functions of city.

阅读过程中无数次睡着，文风实在是太啰嗦了。探讨全球化过程中的贫富差距，在二十年前想来是非常有远见的。不过在全球化这个词被用烂了的今天，显然无法让我再设身处地地感受它掀起众多讨论的魅力…

（城市社会学作业） 经历了数千年的发展，似乎是刚刚习惯与适应了大工业机器的声声轰鸣与狂飙突进，城市在最近几十年又逐渐开始面临全球化的机遇与挑战。在普遍意义上，依靠信息技术的发展，全球化拉近了城市与城市的距离，构建了新的“城市—区域”关系，但这并不意味...  

虽然已是十年之后才读到这本书，里面的研究仍然有益。 只是翻译太差强人意，好多地方连主语都没有把握好，给读者带来很大麻烦，有条件的建议直接读原版吧。  

本想用中文本快快过一下，因为萨女士谈一件事不惜笔墨。但看来还是老实去看英文版吧。 1.中文版P4，第三个假设中的融合经济，原文为集聚经济agglomeration； 2.中文版P6，第七个假设中的信息化，原文为非正规化informal,informalization,这样才解释得通。
