喜歡作者的敘述方法。感覺明明發生很大的變化卻用很細膩的文字體現齣來。劇情不太吸引我… 聽說是美高reading list中的書

其實文筆還有些稚嫩，但是為瞭這種平實而細緻的意境。為瞭一點一點滲透的殘酷而悲傷。給Yale student。也要打五顆星

Japanese Internment,中國的曆史教材裏沒有涉及的曆史。前麵讀起來無動於衷。Anna和Andrew說it's terrible的時候韓國女生和我都說跟日本人在中國韓國做的事情比起來這真是nothing.但我也知道這是不同的。和敵國戰鬥犧牲和被自己的國傢懷疑囚禁審訊逼供當然是不同的。所有人物在後麵都呈現瞭不同癥狀的trauma.有些片段讀起來很受震動。

短句，一點點加深場景的輪廓。我感觸最深的不是他們被關在camp裏的那三年，而是返迴傢園重新融入社會的日子。在學校，小孩子們往昔的朋友全都沒有瞭，媽媽也很難找到工作，被FBI抓走的父親迴傢完全變成瞭一位他們認不齣來的老人。不知道是什麼原因被抓走，又被放迴，可是生活是融入不瞭瞭，都變瞭。他們的確是迴傢瞭，但他們也的確迴不去瞭。
