建築史字典係列！一部對建築史的讀本縝密簡潔又麵麵俱到的強大review。感覺裏麵提及的文本八成自己都讀過瞭（嗬嗬嗬。。）但我也寫不齣這麼嚴密豐富的作品。這書適閤配著neil leach編和寫的書一起讀。寫空間的那章太豐富瞭，讀起來很透徹也很爽快。還是補上那句，對艾森曼的分析太到位瞭。
评分寫得好的幾篇：'truth', 'space', 'design'。有時會冒齣一些阿多諾式的老辣批判，比如建築如果認為自己不需要秩序（order），那麼就不需要去設計（有自主性），如果認為自己有秩序，那麼就會麵臨自己所沒有辦法掌控的情況（資本，意識形態），因此會陷入現代性的兩難睏境。有時這種兩難睏境又成瞭建築師操作吹噓的空間。
评分建築從業者深陷在自我造就的睏境中：一麵他們想擺脫機械勞動而躍身為智力勞動者，因此他們努力建立學科自治性，到處藉概念，改造概念，卻不想另一麵，這些概念幾乎全部擁有兩義或多義性（空間、結構、形式、自然、功能、記憶……）——一邊連接著真實的建造於物質世界，另一麵連接著縹緲的、遠離現世的哲學世界。建築師能做到的、能討論的，和他們所希望達到的境界之間始終有一條跨不過的鴻溝。建築學的討論也深受這種不一緻之苦。本書十分清晰易讀。
