评分推薦給任何對古希臘有哪怕一丁點興趣的人。行文優雅穩健，讀起來非常吸引人。也可能正是由於這點，犧牲瞭學術著作更看重的嚴謹性。不過，謝天謝地，這點犧牲很值得。
评分關於中西方差異的觀點略主觀。現在看來已經有些過時，但是仍然令人大開眼界。
