Play in three acts by Tennessee Williams, first produced and published in 1947 and winner of the Pulitzer Prize for drama for that year. Her neurotic, genteel pretensions are no match for the harsh realities symbolized by her brutish brother-in-law, Stanley Kowalski.

剛看完電影，迴傢就很興奮地把劇本讀瞭。電影最重要的改動便是在開頭和結尾，電影裏的Stella更有反抗力，更有人情味兒，且在結尾留瞭一點希望；而在書裏則是徹徹底底的淪落和無助。
