精神書店偶得，很是沉重的一本書，在時代與傢庭的掙紮衝突中，仿佛看見瞭平行時空中有著相似際遇的另一個自己。作者一生都在尋求傢庭對自己的認同和愛，諸多掙紮痛苦也都緣係於此，還好，她人生中最重要的兩個人Aunt Baba和Bob，都未曾離開過。語言細膩而豐富，中粵英三語俱佳

不幸的故事，作者從姑姑那裏獲得力量，試圖團結傢人，卻被繼母阻撓，與財産無關，隻需要認同，尋求歸屬感而不得。籠罩在暗色調中，文筆很好

看了两遍，我本身也很好奇那个旧时代的人怎么生活，这本书给我一种穿越时空的感觉。adeline很励志，但不是所有人都像她一样聪明可以靠自己智慧打拼。很羡慕这样的女人。看的是英文版，好奇有没有中文版，书中有些情节还是对communist蛮负面的。
