看過她寫的《寵兒》，文筆很流暢，從一讀就停不下來的故事裏洞察黑人種族存在的社會現狀－理性麵對社會位置。

Just like Beloved, this novel again drove me to a mixture of grief, sympathy and tenderness. It's a story about roots and links. With original names thrown and family separated, colored people lost partly their identity. It's significant to know, to remember, to complete themselves, so that they could gain the strength to ride the air and fly home.

这本书跟《最蓝的眼睛》相比，后者是纯真的语言，而前者多了些叙述技巧。托尼·莫里森的语言文字把自然之物与人的感觉结合在一起。我个人认为，她写女人和小孩是很成功的，女性在她的笔下熠熠生辉，比如这本书的露丝，因为得不到丈夫的爱与性需求的满足，转而投向给年龄很大儿...

我曾经很多次梦到自己在飞，努力得越飞越高，梦中的我只要用力就飞得过最高的楼，我想我会飞。传说从非洲那边来的黑人会飞，奶娃不知飞向了何方，曾经最好的朋友最庇护自己的人为了金钱要杀自己，这是怎样的悲伤呢？三个麦肯戴德都是悲伤的，他们甚至没有一个真实的可以代表自...  

读了好久，终于读完了这本其实并不算大部头的书……故事到中后部才变得吸引人，前半部分太过平淡，铺陈太多，从普通读者的角度看着比较无聊，很多东西要看到后面才能理解作者的描述意图。不过读完之后，依然感慨万千，这可能就是好书的共性吧——不论阅读的过程如何，读完之后...
