读的时候总在想，他要是能写完就好了。不过转念又想，这样的流浪，怕是永远都不会终结的。从这点上讲拜伦可谓深得浪漫主义精髓，他不想“从中间开始”，亦不想轻易收尾（也有可能是因为死在了希腊）。前三个canto电闪雷鸣般感人。另，和莫扎特的歌剧出入还是挺大的。

每每拿起又放下两个月才看完，好可惜它成了残篇。很难想象带上这么多digression如果按计划完成是何种规模。什么都想写却什么都未及展开，英伦遭际犹如是。从仅剩的拼图一角看，DJ对Haidee最认真，拜伦也一样

真的是又有诗才又聪明灵活。看似严肃的事一件也没提，却都夹杂在调侃之间了。每一种文风都玩的很透彻。对这部作品丰富而跳脱的语言非常感兴趣，因为这一点其实不仅仅是语言技巧，更表现了拜伦对智性自由的思考和打破陈词滥调的尝试。他熟知在一些特定文学传统下熏陶出来的读者会有怎样的期待，然后在最合适的地方把这些期待一一戳破。作品写于拜伦自己也在外游荡的时期，而从文字的质感和选用上来看，也“游荡”了不少国家。好多韵真是故意让人哭笑不得，一边说着自己对韵最为忠诚，一边在这一挡箭牌下放肆地跑题和海纳百川。（以及，自己尝试连续写几个八行诗节就知道他有多有才了。）
