Animated by the idea of a moral order based on the mutual benefit of equal participants, the Western social imaginary is characterized by three key cultural forms - the economy, the public sphere, and self-governance. 在从暹粒到金边7小时颠簸的大巴上开始读的，读了两章。之前太抗拒关于＂现代性＂这样的词，读了才觉得太值得思考了。看着路边的热带吊脚楼和时速15公里的公路，又突然觉得＂现代性＂可能只是一种少数而已。还没想清楚，但像柬埔寨这样的国家在不在我们现在研究现代性的话语之内呢？想听“第三世界”国家的学者对于“现代性”的论述。但另一方面又觉得，现在的学术体系规范和话语本身就是非常“西方”/“发达国家”的；能够出现其中的第三世界学者也早就被规训了吧？说到底觉得学术很fake【想太多了- -
