评分以POV形式“摹仿”细密画书及其制作过程。几组物象-意象视角的章节正如抄本插图，而全书的物理中心（31章）正是插图中最具“灵魂”和“寓意”性质的“红色”。在这一意义上，这部书也隐在地要求读者以阅读细密画书、而非阅读“现代”小说的方式进入它和它的世界。对读部分中译，感觉相较下英译遣词nativize倾向更强。
