还是更喜欢看童年经历的部分，比起后面开始讲学术经历和职业发展要真诚很多，感觉后半部分即使触及到了种族／性别歧视、做检察官接触到的社会阴暗面等等，但是由于种种现实因素的牵制还是不能把畅所欲言，总感觉涉及个人感受、家庭等方面的内容更为真诚，而面向公众的一面则会加以粉饰。励志归励志，但是感觉Sotomayor更多地把自己的成功归功于周围人的无私帮助和自己本身的优秀品质，读完整本书的感觉就是一个这样的人“能”成为最高法院大法官，但是好像丝毫不觉得因为她能，大多数人就也能够做到这一点。但是恐怕就像作者说的那样，重要的是梦想在我们身上激发出的东西，而非结果。在学校见到真人感觉很符合书中描述，Q&A环节走下台和全场观众握手，站在学生中间交流，对于性别歧视、种族歧视等问题的回答也十分真诚。

读的稍快。很喜欢最后几章。所谓step by step.再者，可以看出来SONIA在耶鲁的时候确实不算出类拔萃。再优秀的人也有优势不在的时候。

跟tolstoy的半小说半自传的Childhood; Boyhood; Youth比，差距大。作家和法官写自传，差别真大。

作为自传这简直写的太好了 文笔优雅流畅不学究 章节架构自然 瞎bb说她灌鸡汤的要求真是太高 人家就是把人生活得这么鸡汤怎么办呢 何况还要考虑读者需求啊 她用半本书写自己的离婚经历你就爽了吗？用另外半本写自己的表哥吸毒？她也对这些负面事件都做了一章的详细描写了啊 读者一看到一个最高法大法官出自传 就是好奇传奇人物背后的那些一步一步的脚印 她在这一点上做的简直不能更好 人家前序就说了 自传肯定不可避免地比传记要少些客观的 你说你还不爽人家卖鸡汤 讲的都是正面的事 那你看了前序就别看了呀 等出了传记再看她的客观生活啊
