阿什利·米爾斯（Ashley Mears），紐約大學社會學博士，波士頓大學副教授，研究方嚮為文化與市場的交集，探討社會如何為事物賦值，性彆、種族、階層不平等如何形塑瞭文化生産與變革。

譯者簡介：

張皓，本科先後求學於廈門大學人類學係、颱灣政治大學民族學係，荷蘭萊頓大學碩士畢業。現就職於法國某奢侈品集團。

讀完瞭覺得其實也就那樣。但作者太漂亮瞭，加一分。

作者1/4韓裔前模特兼教授，瞭解行業內幕滿有趣的一本。翻瞭一下models.com，根據作者的分類，當下的edgy look就是短鼻子，翹嘴巴，扁平臉，總結下就是亞洲臉。什麼神神秘秘的模特buzz，說白瞭就是看金主在哪裏。

個人認為，質性研究嚮來注重3件事：細緻、結構、勇氣。1是素質，2是靈氣，3是底綫。這本書更多的像是，分好瞭類，然後采訪、人名、應用的堆砌。雖然Mears是我老師，還是應該多讀幾遍學做工。
