評分射杀的时候，如果距离太远，瞄准镜用不上，用什么呢？选择了被狙击人员背后的数作为参照物。 做一件事情，办法总是有的，看怎么想。 另外，狙击手主要是瞄准腹部射击，面积大，和以前理解的爆头不一致。

德州紅脖世界觀，牛仔齣身，海豹部隊的訓練，作為狙擊手四進伊拉剋的經曆。主角在其中毫不掩飾自己的粗樸認同感和純職業軍人視角：熱愛國傢（但”國傢“基本上等同於傢庭、親人、戰友、小社區，最多是德州）；絕不惜身，同袍至上，尊敬各部同僚；視敵人為邪惡化身必欲誅之而後快；眼中隻有目標和勝利，等級觀念淡漠；厭惡或毫不願意理解官僚體係、懦夫或無能行為、不閤理的交戰規則、戰爭的政治目的，甚至公然說到伊拉剋的目的是保衛國傢、同袍和傢人不受侵害，至於伊拉剋人和伊拉剋政局如何根本don't give a flying fuck；對反戰人士和行為以過來人身份嗤之以鼻。對狙擊細節和戰爭場麵描寫不算十分細緻，但大緻的勾勒已可讓讀者感受到生死的重壓、軍人的心理壓力和看到同袍倒下的痛苦等種種。
