Always enjoyed Anthony Horowitz TV shows, Midsomer and Foley. Not bad as a SH story goes, and I am quite picky about non-Doyle SH stories. This one doesn't make me want to throw it out of the window, at least.

之前讀過作者大名鼎鼎的《喜鵲謀殺案》，前兩天又看瞭他在17年伊安·弗萊明vs約翰·勒卡雷的辯論視頻。纔發現他真的好口纔啊，外加思路超清晰。讀瞭他在本書後麵的附錄，愈發感覺這真是一個很有趣的人。

非常一般的犯罪小說,推理和懸疑都算不上,霍洛維茨的水平還是不行,寫得又臭又長,在飛機上纔勉強看完,雖然對柯南道爾的原著模仿還算到位,但案情實在是一言難盡.我也算是理解為什麼福爾摩斯係列隻有短篇和四篇中篇,因為裏麵的任何一個案子都難以寫成長篇.而我們的霍洛維茨依然拿著中篇的故事塞進長篇的體量,後果可想而知.

看瞭三分之一，實在看不下去，拙劣的模仿，冗長而囉嗦的敘事，壓縮到三分之一篇幅也許還能一讀，迄今為止所看到的福爾摩斯續作全是狗尾。
