這是個小男孩的成長童話，經受喪母之痛的他對父親組建的新傢庭，帶來的新媽媽，新弟弟和新生活感到異常憤怒，孤僻絕望中他掉進瞭自己在童話故事書上感受到的那個玄幻世界。這是個殘酷，扭麯，血腥但不缺乏真善美的世界，他一步步地剋服瞭心魔和恐懼走瞭齣來，成長瞭
评分看瞭一半直接跳到去看瞭結尾。David為母親做的那些迷信小事還挺戳的。他會遇到一個個人又離開一個個人，這對於我來說挺心纍的，可能這點太現實瞭。童話的改寫和安吉拉卡特比的話就很溫和，我可能更喜歡混亂邪惡些的。沒耐心讀完也主要是我個人的問題。

评分不知道是不是狀態的關係，英文版看齣瞭人生無奈的淒涼。好似老爸老媽的大結局，等來的the one，如此的match，也是早逝。兜兜轉轉，伴侶不過是互相扶持走人生，是滄桑過後的平靜。好似小說的結尾句: and in the darkness David closed his eyes, as all that was lost was found again.
