Fairy tales retold are like old spots revisited. While reading the book, I just feel amazed at the sharp contrast between my sophisticated mind at present and my boyhood reverie in the long-gone past. Angela Carter is so good at making the simple even simpler that readers of this book will hardly fail to lavish praise on this tiny cute brochure.

港大買的= = 是改編各類童話不過好像故事其實沒有變動但是後麵有啟示一兩條。另外藍鬍子似乎是染血之室的原型

陰鬱繁復的筆觸之下性意指隨處可見。不同於初始版本關於女性不應有好奇心的道德教育，卡特文本直指物化女性的男性凝視，以及自願參與到物化過程的女性，最後的救贖是女人與盲人生活，不再被凝視，但額頭仍有性背叛的紅字。將十九世紀晚期法國符號代入，影射因魔鬼崇拜被處決的領導人。過於陰暗而精緻，讀著有如同金鑰匙劃遍全身肌膚的震顫。
