This is a very good short story with an amazing plot-line. I have to say it remained me an episode in xxxholic when i was reading it. A very much similar story like the monkey's paw. People might think it is unreal because of the involvement of magic, monk...  

这是一部据说很经典的恐怖小说，只是个人感觉并不是很恐怖，可能是因为自己的想象能力不是很丰富吧。总体感觉就是作者想告诉人们天下没有免费的午餐，天上掉馅饼的事往往伴随着的是灾祸。所谓祸兮福所倚福兮祸所伏，大抵如此。  

第一次读到这个故事还是在国内引进的牛津书虫里，因为是给初中生准备的简写本，词汇量才300，读得完全毫无压力。故事很短，但是很诱人。过了10年，我都没能忘记故事的主要情节。我终于听到了W.W.Jacobs写的完本小说，只是一个中篇故事，但是情节设置的非常好，扣人心弦。 故事...  

很短的一篇小说。许了三个愿，却付出了极其惨重的代价。 为什么选择让他的儿子死去，可能是因为他儿子态度一直很轻蔑吧。 文中最后也没有直接说出第3个愿望。我猜应该是不希望他的儿子的魂魄出现吧。 得到的一个启示就是，天上真的没有掉下来的馅饼。有所得必有所失。不要总...
