When the late afternoon joyride of an ex-con, his tagalong brother, and a psychopath one step away from meltdown results in a random act of violence, the trio takes a family hostage in the affluent bedroom community of Bristo Camino. But the hostages are no innocents, and their home contains secrets that even Los Angeles' s most lethal and volatile crime lord, Sonny Benza, fears. Soon, all involved are held hostage by the exigencies of fate and the only one capable of diffusing the standoff is the least stable of them all.
