原本是把这本书当成关于第一代移民的书来看的，更多关注的是文化宗教的冲突，但读完后发现其实并不尽然。这只是一个人的故事，每个人都是一段传奇，弗兰克讲出来了。我并不喜欢他苦大仇深地叙述着美国人有多不知足，爱尔兰人承受了多少的苦难，大多数人更愿意看到的还是苦难中...

but this is the third book of his I read, and although the rhythm is still there and the little dark cloud over his head still touches me, but it's far less powerful a book than "Angela's Ashes". Interesting to read though. And I can't help but wonder, what...
