Callie's perfect wedding is cancelled when her fianc suddenly leaves for California with another woman. Recipes for an array of appetizers and cocktails that feature the plants from Callie's gardens are included, as well as profiles of herbs featured in the story. "Herbal Beginnings" is the first work of fiction by author and professional herb grower, Carolee Snyder. She began her herb farm in 1978 in southern Indiana. In 1992, she moved 80,000 plants to relocate in north central Indiana where she now resides with her husband, David. In addition to raising a family and running an herb business, she hosted a gardening radio show for eight years.
