John Dancer was a drifter. He came upon a young woman weeping after raiders had lynched her husband and taken everything from their ranch. Dancer was compelled to help Cassie Blythe, but he was up against a web of deceit and murder on the range. Then the raiders returned with guns blazing and Dancer was shot to pieces, left virtually a cripple. But he was determined to return to face the raiders - and vowed to even the score as a dark angel riding.
