In the newest addition to the Library of American Biography Series, noted biographer and historian Herbert Parmet introduces students to this enigmatic leader, whose forward-thinking policies and strategies still affect the international stage. Both motivated and crippled by his appetite for power, President Richard M. Nixon will always be remembered for tarnishing the American Presidency. However, this new biography shows how Nixon,s groundbreaking initiatives on the environment, technology, foreign relations and social policy rank Nixon among the most accomplished leaders ever to sit in the White House. The titles in the Library of American Biography Series make ideal supplements for American History Survey courses or other courses in American history where figures in history are explored. Paperback, brief, and inexpensive, each interpretative biography in this series focuses on a figure whose actions and ideas significantly influenced the course of American history and national life. At the same time, each biography relates the life of its subject to the broader themes and developments of the times.
