John Mejias is a comic book artist, public school teacher, and printmaker, among other things. He is the mastermind behind the triannual comic Paping, and the annual Paping Soap Box Derby. He is also featured in The Best American Comics 2008 (Houghton Mifflin; edited by Lynda Barry). He lives in New York City with his wife and daughter.
