Interrogating the link between education and poverty reduction, this examination highlights the role of cross-sectoral coordination and policy coherence in breaking the poverty trap. Divided into four concise sections, this study examines the discourse on policy coherence, investigates the impact that poverty has on higher education and funding policies, explores the links between education and social development, and provides case studies of best practice in the spheres of college education, educational enterprises, and media in education. Inspirational biographies by those who have pulled themselves out of the poverty trap are also included.
