著者簡介

傑剋·阿德爾斯坦，曾於1993年至2005年間在日本第一大報《讀賣新聞》當過記者。2006年至2007年，他擔任瞭美國國務院贊助的日本人口販運研究項目的首席調查員。鑒於他是日本有組織犯罪方麵首屈一指的專傢，現在他在日本和美國都以作傢和顧問的身份齣現。他還擔任著總部位於華盛頓特區的非政府組織“日本北極星計劃”的公關負責人，該組織反對人口販運和利用婦女兒童的性交易所進行的非法牟利。

關於日本亞文化偉大的故事幽默的語言

作者給自己起瞭個地道日本名“中本哲史”，作為讀賣新聞能用日文報道寫作的美國猶太佬，其在日本深耕多年涉及暴力團報道的老道程度讓很多本土記者都能以望其項背，後藤中政和後藤組遇上這號人物也算是倒黴

全書大概一半和日本黑道有關，另外一半是寫作者自己在讀賣新聞的經曆+“那些年我在東京/琦玉和警察混的日子”。也算是某種視角下的日本文化解讀吧。

跟項塔蘭一樣是白人男性在亞洲國傢的傳奇經曆，因為熟悉當地語言而且居住年限較長，所以比一般遊客看得更深，而自己顯性的外來者身份又注定能觀察經曆當地人少見或者無視的部分。Jake-san可能是進入讀賣新聞本部,用日文寫作報道，以及被黑道追殺的美國（猶太裔）第一人，他的nerd屬性決定瞭他能融入日本社會，他的犯罪新聞記者身份決定瞭他看到的不隻是錶麵繁榮祥和銀座六本木富士山和櫻花，他的美國人內核決定瞭他目睹黑暗後想make a difference，以及更容易瞭解和同情寄居東瀛的其他落魄gaijin。他的人生經曆比自己筆下的凶殺案都更精彩，但可惜文筆和感悟力不如同儕同窗及同鄉-- 何偉。何偉在奇石裏有一章就是講Jake的日本傳奇，也提到瞭這本書。anyways, interesting read
