彼得•伯剋,英國文化史學傢,劍橋大學伊曼紐爾學院榮譽教授,歐洲人文和自然科學院成員。畢業於牛津大學,1962至1979年任教於薩塞剋斯大學歐洲研究學院。隨後,他來到劍橋大學,從事文化史研究,並曾擔任伊曼紐爾學院的圖書管理員和檔案管理員。他的研究方嚮為早期現代曆史,強調文化史和社會史對現代問題的意義。主要著作有《文藝復興》(1987)、《法國史學革命》(1990)、《曆史學與社會理論》(1991)、《製造路易十四》(1992)、《什麼是文化史》(2004)等。
