我是看了The Historian以后才买了这本书，结果证明这是我在美国期间买的最最后悔的一本书：故事毫无意义，情节冗长。我读完候都大乎了一口气，终于读完了

Not as good as her previous book" The Historian", but I think worth reading. The love between a talented female painter and her uncle-in-law, at that time in French.
