[有声书] The Great Courses系列的有声课程，语言学入门。讲者很幽默，整个讲义串得很好，至少让我这个外行觉得收获不少。语言的成长、演变和消亡，口语、书面语和手语（手语属于人工语言），还有pidgin和creole这种一代和二+代的多语言混合。最有趣的是，看pidgin/creole的形成过程，也能反推一些要消亡语言的消亡过程（举个或许不够恰当的例子：我们之前爱说，我们只会说“中国加油”而日本会说“风月同天”）。所以一些中英文夹杂使用如果能成气候的话（比如“hold住”），或许很有发展潜力。我之前略有所闻的文化和语言关系的Sapir-Whorf假说，作者表示反对。另外，讲者的演讲风格和课程设计很值得学习！！

McWhorter教授真是集幽默与才华于一身，时不时穿插的小吐槽/笑话真是可爱，还经常对音乐剧引经据典。对于语言/方言以及creole的讲述非常有意思。强烈推荐。
