《中国藓类植物志(第7卷)(英文版)》内容简介：China contains one of the tectonically most important and complicated terrains in the world. It has three terraces from the eastern coast to the Qinghai-Xizang plateau in the west, with the highest altitude of 8,848 meters at the peak of Zhumulangmafeng (Qomolangmafeng, Mount Everest), the so-called "roof of the world." The complicated topography and diverse climate of China, coupled with its great longitudinal and latitudinal ranges, have resulted in tremendous vegetational and floristic diversity. China is the only country in the world with an unbroken landmass extending from tropical to boreal regions, represented by continuous transitions of plant communities from tropical, subtropical, temperate to boreal forests, and from deserts and steppes to alpine tundras or to permanent glaciers. The well-known diversity of vascular plants found in China is paralleled by the diversity of bryophytes.
