具体描述
An astonishing first novel by a writer
whose sensibilities are evocative of the
recent fiction of Mary Gordon, FULL OF
GRACEis about the tough choices that
people must continue to make to estab-
lish who they are.
Morgan Raybould is thirty-three, and
has been married ten years, when sud-
denly the issue of whether she wants to
conceive a child threatens her marriage
and clouds her whole life. Morgan
senses she is not cut out to meet the
demands of motherhood that raising
a child would jeopardize, possibly even
put an end to, her career as a painter.
The decision she knows she must make
between marriage and motherhood,
career and serf- and the life she finally
chooses-form the story of this extraor-
dinary novel.
FULL OF GRACE is an auspicious debut
by a strong new voice in women s fiction.
