INTRODUCTION
Hypnosis is a lot like daydreaming, When you daydream,
you alter your state of consciousness to the alpha frequency
region and then engage in your fantasies. All the while, you
are conscious and aware, yet you remain oblivious to exter-

ference is that in hypnosis your mind is directed to spec!fic
beneficial goals you wish to achieve, and not to fantasies as
in daydreaming. Some beneficial goals might be: to quit
smoking; to go on a diet; to improve your self-image; over-
come phobias and fears; improve memory, etc. The list of
uses is nearly limitless.
