劳伦•勃兰特，加拿大多伦多大学经济系经济学教授，曾在《政治经济学杂志》等一流国际经济学期刊上发表大量关于中国经济的文章，对中国经济的各个方面都多有涉猎。

托马斯•罗斯基，美国匹兹堡大学经济系经济学和经济史教授，曾在《美国经济评论》和《政治经济学杂志》等杂志上发表大量许多关于中国经济史和中国工业经济的论文，同时也是《中国经济增长与就业》（1979）和《战前中国经济增长》（1989）等书的作者。
