Courtney Summers was born in Belleville, Ontario, 1986. At age 14, she dropped out of high school. At age 18, she wrote her first novel. Cracked Up to Be was published in 2008, when she was 22 and went on to win the 2009 CYBIL award in YA fiction. Since then, she’s published four more critically acclaimed books: Some Girls Are, Fall for Anything, This is Not a Test and All the Rage, as well as an e-novella, Please Remain Calm which is a sequel to This is Not a Test. Sadie hasn't had an easy life. Growing up on her own, she's been raising her sister Mattie in an isolated small town, trying her best to provide a normal life and keep their heads above water.
But when Mattie is found dead, Sadie's entire world crumbles. After a somewhat botched police investigation, Sadie is determined to bring her sister's killer to justice and hits the road following a few meagre clues to find him.
When West McCray—a radio personality working on a segment about small, forgotten towns in America—overhears Sadie's story at a local gas station, he becomes obsessed with finding the missing girl. He starts his own podcast as he tracks Sadie's journey, trying to figure out what happened, hoping to find her before it's too late.

非常非常非常推荐的一本书，作者从来没有用力在写这本书，但却深深触动你。
评分我的第一本teen mystery，19的女孩寻找杀害她13岁妹妹凶手的故事。尝试了被大力推荐的有声版 ，感觉有些特别--1）故事由两大部分组成--Sadie 的角度和自述她的追踪之路，记者追寻失踪的Sadie并在Podcast 报道。有声版的McCary部分听起来就跟听真实的Podcast 没两样，格式新颖。2)我很喜欢Sadie有自己的声音，有agency, 即使穷途末路，而不仅是：又一个女性受害者，好似除此之外她们没别的身份了。另一个不同的地方是作者并未安排McCary为她的拯救者。跟现实一样，他人对经历这些遭遇的女性，只能事后愤慨和悲痛。记录案件的初衷应该是还给女孩们自己的声音，与其宣传案件的恐怖性让小女孩们害怕世界的危险，更不如加强人们对这类案件犯罪分子多在身边的意识，从根源开始。
评分结尾有点太衰了

评分3.5 非常appreciate这个format 一边是主人公 一边是寻找失踪女孩的podcast 双方分别拥有对方没有的信息 情节就有点薄 但这是本儿YA afterall 可以理解和忍受
