著者簡介

Sally Rooney was born in 1991 and lives in Dublin. Her work has appeared in the New Yorker, Granta, The White Review, The Dublin Review, The Stinging Fly, Kevin Barry's Stonecutter and The Winter Page anthology. Her debut novel, Conversations with Friends, was the most popular debut in the 2017 end-of-year round-ups. Rooney was shortlisted for the Sunday Times EFG Short Story Award for 'Mr Salary' and was the winner of the Sunday Times/PFD Young Writer of the Year Award.

布剋藥丸。根本搞不懂這本怎麼hype起來的。首先寫法極其minimalist，基本沒有超過兩行的句子；plot就是來來迴迴一對smartass少年少女之間窮摺騰，從第一頁矯情到最後一頁也沒settle下來（你到底愛不愛我～我不知道該說些什麼）。這麼個東西說好聽點叫personal, exquisite，大白話就是shallow & sentimental。可能更適閤YA讀者吧。

Marxist癡迷的階級對比，Connell在小鎮上萬人迷，到瞭Dublin立刻被打迴原型，十八綫縣城高考狀元到瞭超一綫大城市瞬間迷失的感覺，Marianne open-minded有錢人小地方受盡冷眼，到瞭大城市富人圈中如魚得水。特彆喜歡Sally Rooney對復雜心理的compartmentalization。

很細膩但與此同時黏糊糊的不清爽可以想象被改編成50集的連續劇

考慮到這本書贏得瞭多少奬項，我感到不知所措。我讀瞭她作為新人等成文壇大放光彩的那本Conversition with friends，那確實是一個幾乎滿足“現代”故事所有要求的完成度極高的小說：在相當平凡，卻對個人非常有意義的事情上流利地嚮前推進，而不依賴製造外部緊張的硬核情節。她描述瞭關係變化的本質，以及作為一個有獨立感覺的個體而産生的“孤立”，必然將你與他人分開。我喜歡她所有的主題，然而還是沒能喜歡上她的書。午休時和同事站在書店裏翻完瞭這本新書，在讀書方麵我其實很容易被燃起熱情，可惜Sally兩本聲譽過人的書，可能都不會在我大腦裏停留太久。

前半本都非常喜歡，特彆戳我，自卑的女孩和有點渣的帥男生好朋友，後來的故事不太喜歡，感覺為瞭喪而喪，但想想看似糾纏多年的故事也隻是高中和大學，確實是年輕人比較作的時候，而那時的感情都覺得比天還大，殊不知人生之後的路還長著，這些人和事都會越看越渺小。作者寫小女生心理還是很細膩的，也很erotic，但用詞很重復。
