老实说只有极少数作者能让我读一本600多页的悬疑，有这个耐心且还能感觉不错的，罗琳女士绝对是其中一人了。客观地讲，这本的故事主线本身并不是这系列里最令人热血沸腾的，作者更侧重抽丝剥茧找真相（你可以评价她描写的这个过程细节化到极致），还有罗琳标志性的写作特点：不管“戏份”多少，每个人物刻画饱满到让人足以相信他们都是现实中人。这些都增加篇幅。所以不奇怪的，这本里面Strike和Robin的各自感情故事也得到更多笔墨。他们各自的问题，误会和困扰让跟了一路的读者会有些“不耐烦”，我读的时候也有这个情绪，仔细一想还是因为作者把这些人物写得太真实，让人在意。看着你认识的“朋友”感情里“犯傻”，很难忍住内心的焦虑。加上复杂的悬疑主线，这确实是一本容易让人感觉发展慢的书，但其实它并不是一个节奏拖沓的故事。

这一本太长了，但是一点都不会让人觉得无趣，人物鲜活，故事精彩，非常不错的阅读体验

It took me 2 months to finish reading this book. It is a long story with very complicated plot. The language is good as usual, but the mystery itself is not as gripping as I’d expected it to be.
