还记得几年前第一次读Sedaris觉得他的幽默格外犀利，毕竟那时候还没读过David Foster Wallace，优秀的beach read，也挺适合在公园长凳上坐一下午一口气读完，算是两本fiction之间的palette cleanser吧！

我觉得很有意思哎，一个老年gay对家人的碎碎念。感觉他和siblings的感情好好啊，总是在beach house一起八卦。也有很多很伤感沉重的话题，但似乎都被他讲得很轻松。也有很多笑话，就是那种年纪大了可以想说啥说啥的感觉。有声书里面穿插着几个脱口秀，也挺好玩的。

I know Sedaris's humor isn't for everyone, and I am not head over heels in love with his writing. But once in a while, I do miss his ability to make seemingly impossible situations and subjects (e.g., suicide, Trump, alcoholism, etc.) funny. This is a nice summer read.

a cancer whore-the disease has to be terminal!/may you build a house from your kidney stones hahahh/想喂给乌龟tumor的故事 (他反问凭什么不能带走明明it's my tumor I made it哈哈哈哈/they can't make us twelve again so they don't count as players./I'm not just a vehicle to my wallet!/想象有一个女朋友但所有的结尾都是她各种死法的部分./想要same sex marriage because I want it to be ours to spit on. hahhh

经由Amy Sedaris 想看看她哥David Sedaris的风格对书名Calypso好奇除了海滩小屋或许有联系也没能确证这个reference是如何建立的说不上不喜欢这个文风但有时候感觉他口吻略微刻薄总体是幽默的日常琐事随想北卡相关有点亲切!
